I have been following a blog for a few months about a family that has adopted a little girl from Uganda. They are friends of some of our friends and their story has really touched me. Since Kyle and I have a heart for adoption, specifically in Africa, I have truly enjoyed following their story and seeing God's amazing goodness in their lives. Today she posted a link to

Please take the time to look at the site and read about Mukisa. I don't know about you, but it is life-changing for me. Kyle and I have spent so much time in prayer lately asking the Lord how He can use us. He continues to show us the areas of the world that break His heart and I believe that He is opening our eyes and hearts to something that is far beyond our knowledge and control.
Matthew 25:31-45 says:
31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,
43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
Father God, use our hands and feet to love the least of these! Use my life as a way to reach the lost and the broken to share your truth and unfailing love! I long for more of you and less of me every day! I pray that everyone who reads about the injustice at Mukisa will have a heart that is broken for your glory, Lord! Please show us how we can make a difference! Each of us has a different calling, some to go, some to fund, and all to pray and love. PLEASE use us Lord and help us to learn how to allow ourselves to be used! You are doing mighty works Lord! Thank you for seeing your goodness in all of our human imperfection! It is my joy and honor to serve you!
Blessed with sweet surrender,
Bekah

Learning to pray.
Do you ever wonder if God is calling you to step out of your comfort zone? If He is asking you to do something that would go against all you have planned and prepared for?
I often wonder what I would do if God calls me to something greater than my small mind can comprehend. If He called me to give up everything and go live in a 3rd world country, WOULD I? Or would I spend my time on this earth doubting that my gracious and merciful Lord would ever call lowly me to such an adventure? How exactly do I KNOW where God is leading me? How do I even know WHEN God is speaking to me? I have been praying for clarity on this subject for the past few days. It seems silly that at 26 years old, I still don’t know beyond a shadow of a doubt when my Lord speaks. Does it happen in the stillness of a silent prayer? Could I hope for a bold and booming voice? Or is it mainly found in the written words of my beloved Bible? I still am not completely sure what to expect from my awesome Lord, but I am ETERNALLY grateful that He allowed me to read this during my quiet time this morning.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trails of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.” James 1:2-8
Wow…that one stings a bit, huh? If you are like me, (and I sure hope you’re NOT,) I ask God to be my portion, to give me His wisdom, that I may die to the selfish desires of my heart and rest solely in His care… I pray daily that God would be greater in my life and that I would be less... I pray daily that I would actually be a true servant for an ENTIRE day without serving myself, but as with most things in life, I get in the Lord’s way!
When I pray to God, the Bible says that I MUST believe and NOT DOUBT! Thank you so much Lord for showing me a better way to pray! Thank you for your patience in dealing with me. I KNOW I have made this more painful than it needs to be for both you and me along the way, but THANK YOU for being the All-knowing, All-powerful, All-Merciful, Mighty Deliverer that has saved me from my sin and shame! I love you beyond measure!!!
